MIATA REUNION MEDIA ASSETS
Event Description & History
The Miata Reunion is an annual celebration of Mazda’s globally popular iconic roadster,
with the first gathering held at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in 2009, where the event
started as Miatas at Mazda Raceway.
15 years later, the Miata Reunion has become the largest grassroots gathering of Miata
enthusiasts in North America. This community-focused event offers something for
everyone, from the hard-core track driver (and racer) to a highly competitive car show, and
an assortment of social activities catering to a broad range of demographics and interests,
run entirely by volunteers from the Miata family.
This is the only time each year that all the major suppliers of Miata performance parts and
services converge in one place, along with the various Miata Clubs and enthusiast groups
from all over the U.S. Through the years the event has enjoyed coverage from Road & Track,
Petrolicious, Automobile Magazine, AutoWeek, and Autoblog.
General Statistics
The average weekend attendance of the Miata Reunion over the past 15 years has hovered
between 1,000 and 1,200 people, with around 900 Miatas, and steadily growing each year.
The 30th Anniversary event in 2019 was a huge success, with:
- 1,653 total registered attendees (not including walk-in spectators)
- 1,226 Miatas
- 644 Miatas on track for the Saturday Parade Laps and video/photoshoot
Our oldest HPDE (track day) driver, Dave, turned 78 that year and has driven nearly all our
events. The youngest was 16, receiving instruction from her father (another veteran with
us) for her very first track day.
